Project Overview

Akool is a Palo Alto generative AI company whose tools are used by Fortune 500 teams to produce avatars, live translation, and real time video. For the public unveiling of Akool Live Camera, the newest tool in their Live Suite, their in house marketing team brought us in to run the production day. They had the strategy, the script, and the demo locked. We brought the cameras, the crew, and the polish.

The Challenge

This was a category launch, not a product update. Akool was introducing what they call live AI video generation, a new lane in the broader AI video space. With press embargoes lined up at PR Newswire, SiliconANGLE, and Yahoo Finance, and the entire global AI community watching, the footage had to land on the first take.

The brief asked for three things at once:A founder led explainer that read confident, not corporate.Clean coverage built to support heavy graphics work in post.A visual standard that matched the AI category Akool was trying to define.

The Strategy

Treat the founder like the product. Dr. Jiajun Lu is the face of Akool, so our production approach was built around making him feel inevitable on screen. Tight, intentional framing where it mattered. Cleaner wides where the product needed room to breathe. A Silicon Valley tech aesthetic that felt grounded instead of leaning on the usual studio clichés.

We also planned every angle to give Akool's post team maximum flexibility for cutdowns, social pulls, and press kit edits. One shoot day, every deliverable downstream.

Execution and Production

A multi cam Bay Area video production setup with controlled lighting and dedicated audio. Cinema cameras for the hero coverage. Layered key and fill so Dr. Lu read sharp on every crop, from a 16x9 YouTube edit to a 9x16 social pull. Broadcast grade audio capture so the message was never the bottleneck.

We worked directly with Akool's marketing lead through pre production, locking references and pacing before a single light went up. On set, our crew kept the shoot moving so the founder could focus on delivery, not logistics. Wrapped on schedule, no reshoots.
